Auto-Stop System Introduction

Audi was the first to say that, all of Audi’s new cars sold in China would carry auto-stop system and braking energy recovery system since 2012. Technical experts said, "In a sense, they are the micro hybrid, effectively reducing the energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions." At present, all Audi vehicle models sale in Germany are standard equipped with the above two systems. In general, those environmental protection technologies are only used in high-end vehicles.  However, they have already begun to be used in self-owned vehicles whose price is lower than hundred thousand RMB, such as new Family and CX90 manufactured by Changan. Without doubt, the auto-stop system is used for fuel-efficient.

 

But Chinese consumers are not familiar with this new technology. So we should know about auto-stop system at first. Car experts introduce that auto-stop system is a system that shut down engine automatically when car is parked temporarily (such as red light). When car needs to continue moving, the system restarts the engine automatically. Auto-stop system is the most rapid developing car environmental protection technologies in recent years, especially suitable for the stop-and-go urban traffic. It is expected that 50% of the new cars in Europe would be equipped with a start-stop system by 2012. It is introduced that this set of system can realize 15% of fuel saving capacity in urban traffic.

 

It is easy to use auto-stop system. Only stamp the brake pedal directly during driving, the engine will automatically shut down after vehicle stopped about two seconds. Keeping stamping on the brake pedal, the engine will remain off. Once release the brake, or turn the steering wheel, the engine will be ignited automatically, and car can start immediately on the accelerator. The whole process is in a state of D block.

 

Automobile service experts say that the system is more suitable for direct injection engine. Therefore, when using the mobile equipped with the system, high quality greases should be used, or else it will affect the usage of the system.
