As the research and development partner of Audi R18e - tron quattro model, Bosch offers high pressure common rail system and core components of the hybrid power system. On the Le Mans Race event, Bosch provided Audi R18e - tron quattro with high pressure common rail system consisting of high-pressure pump, fuel injector and high-pressure fuel rail, as well as motor generator unit (MGU).
The unit is installed on the front axle of a car. It can recover energy back to the flywheel and store as electrical energy in braking process integrated with power electronic controller. When the vehicle speeds up, the unit drives the front axle by the motor and can provide 170 kilowatts of power. In addition, the Bosch technology applied on the Audi R18e - tronquattro includes MS24 engine electronic control unit, vehicle data collection system, starter, generator, harness, and electric steering system developed together by Audi, Bosch and ZF.
