Brazilian Automobile Market Sales Fell by 14% in July

According to the data recently released by Brazilian Automotive Industry Association, automobile sales in Brazilian market fell by nearly 14 percent in July, having been dropped for five months. The local sales of China Chery Automobile declined slightly after continuous fast growth for months.
 
Brazil's auto market is under downturn. On the basis of the statistics from Brazilian National Automobile Dealers Association, including heavy truck buses, the total automobile sales in Brazil in July was 294,787 units, falling by 13.9% compared with 342,291 units of last year.
 
Sales volume of new light vehicles was 279,815 units in July, falling by 13.6% compared with 323,917 units of last year. While 14,972 heavy truck buses were sold, declining from 18,374, by 18.5%. Among light vehicles, passenger cars sales fell by16.8%, from 250,054 to 207,971 units. Light commercial vehicles fell by 2.7%, from 73,863 to 71,844 units.
 
The Brazilian automobile market ended continuous fall since October last year in July and achieved double-digit growth in February. However, it slid down again from the beginning of March. Cumulative total sales of Brazilian automobile market were 1,957,659 units, falling by 8.6% compared with 2,141,245 last year.
 
Cumulative sales of light vehicles fell from 2,031,697 to 1,862,418 units, with a decline rate of 8.3%. Heavy vehicles fell from 109,548 to 95,241 units, with a decline rate of 13.1%. Cumulative sales of light passenger vehicles were 1,394,773, declining by 11.2% from 1,571,910 units. While sales of light commercial vehicles grew by 1.7%, from 459,787 to 467,645 units.
