VE distributor pumps belong to precision machinery, which contain many high precision parts and matching parts. They should be used and maintained correctly in order to guarantee the performance and longevity of engines and fuel injection pumps.
1. Protective oil on drive shaft should be eliminated before the engine being installed on the injection pump.
For long-term nonuse engines, diesel in the pump should be released and anti-rust oil must be poured for rust proofing.

2. Fuel injection advance angle of engine must be measured after engine is installed on the injection pump. Operate according to the following methods:
a. Remove bleed screw of injection pump, and fit with a special measuring tool and schedule.
b. Push the injection pump inward to limit position.
c. Turn the engine flywheel to make it reach the provision position of injection advanced angle.
d. Pull the injection pump outward, and tighten up the fixed screw of injection pump flange when distributor plunger lift reaches specified value.
3. The air needs to be eliminated if the chamber of pump has residual air. Loosen the return fuel bolt of injection pump and eliminate the air in the chamber by hand pump of engine.
4. Each injection pump must be strictly tested before delivery. Seal and seal paint should not be changed to prevent engine coasters, performance degradation, or causing damage in use.
5. Fuel must be subsided and filtered in the use of injection pump. The fuel must be precipitating for more than 48 hours.
