Toyota Auto Parts (Changshu) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as TMCAP) officially opened on July 30. It plans to produce medium and compact motor stepless transmission -- S-CVT from now on. This is the first time that Toyota realizes overseas manufacturing of S-CVT, which is also the practice of upgrading traditional power technology in China.
In July 2012, Toyota announced the establishment of CVT factories in China. After more than two years of preparation, TMCAP is officially opened. The company covers an area of about 140,000 ㎡ with annual production capacity of 240000 units. It executes 2 shifts working policy and will starts 3 shifts from September 21.
Adhering to “in China, for China”, the new generation of S-CVT is specifically for China's consumer demand and the development and adjustment of China's road environment. Through the measures of adopting the world's first coaxial double outlet oil pump, new flexible locking system, new transmission oil, variable speed control systems etc., it will simultaneously satisfy Chinese consumers’ demand of achieving low fuel consumption and driving pleasure.
In another aspect, Toyota will continue to promote the development of hybrid cars in China. Toyota's hybrid cars have reached 6.4 million of sales volume worldwide since the first generation of Prius was listed. Merely in Japan, sales of Toyota hybrid cars were accounted for 28% of new cars, namely 40% of the total number last year. And in China, Toyota has been focusing on hybrid cars since "Cloud Moving Plan" in 2012.
Toyota's R&D center TMEC was completed in Changshu last year, as well as a hybrid power vehicle battery factory. With the establishment of TMCAP, transaxles for hybrid vehicles will be produced here in the future. New-appearance Corolla and Ralink hybrid equipped with domestic hybrid assembly will meet consumers next year.
